On June 11, a Halstead Avenue resident in Harrison returned to his apartment and interrupted a burglary in progress, police said. When interrupted, both leaped out of the window and fled the scene, prompting an investigation.

With an assist from the New Rochelle Police Department and Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, investigators completed a month-long investigation that led to the arrest of Bronx residents Steven Santiago, 32, and Ivan Bonilla, 30, last week. The investigation also found that both men had been implicated in several alleged burglaries throughout Westchester, when they targeted apartment buildings.

Both men were arrested last week and charged with a felony count of second-degree burglary. They are due to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
